What are SS 347 Filler Wires?
SS347 is a chromium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that offers good corrosion resistance. The composition of SS 347 Filler Wires is similar to 304 and 316, except for the addition of nickel and columbium. These additives give the stainless steel more excellent oxidation resistance. They also help to reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion. The microstructure of SS347 is stabilized by columbium, which prevents the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries. In turn, this helps improve the alloy's overall high-temperature properties. In addition, the columbium increases the resistance of the 347 Welding Rod to stress corrosion cracking. It is a good choice for applications where high temperatures and corrosive chemicals are a concern.

This alloy has a relatively low carbon content and is very tough. It has a high yield strength, creeps strength, and good low-temperature toughness.
